We went to "Movies Under the Stars" for date nights. We saw "National Treasure". It was so-so and I had seen it before. Another night we saw "American Graffitti" Totally a waste of time. I saw my first Western, "McKlintok!" with John Wayne. It was funny and good. I had no idea Westerns could be humorous! And lastly, we saw "Frozen" when Melissa and the 'little girls' joined us. I LOVE "Movies Under the Stars." I just wish I could pick the movies! I'd pick a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical or an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
After digging the holes with 'The Dingo' and getting rain while we were in DC, Landon had to jump in the holes and use a bucket to empty them out before pouring cement in them.
It was mucky work!
I love seeing pumpkins growing on a trellis.
Just to prove that kids will play with anything. Here are dirt clumps and mulch pieces. I'm sure they were something manly like 'mines' or 'bombs'.
Both Britton and Ty did a week of Nature Camp at Quarry Hill. I was worried that Tyler wouldn't participate, after being burned with soccer a few months previous. But after his initial hesitation, I was able to leave his classroom. He really enjoyed it. I thought it was very well run and would plan on doing it next year again. Kaden Chang was in Brit's class.
Had the Whiting kids over to play.
Lynn Chang had us over to use their slip n slide. We both went down it, too!
Landon loves his nail gun! Here he's ordering more nails with glint of excitement in his eyes!
I took the kids to Foster Arend beach. Some other girls from the ward were there. We only made it there once this summer. I was worried that 3 kids at a beach would be difficult. Luckily, Cam didn't try to eat the sand, so it was ok. The summer was a tough one, though, because of Cam needing two naps. We usually didn't have much time before we needed to be back home. Actually, in this case, we ended up leaving for Britton and Ty to get to Quarry Hill for their nature camp.
Invited Kaden and Kara over for "Movie Night". The movie of choice was FROZEN.
Look at those luscious lips!
The kids love the bee wall at Quarry Hill. I love how Brit holds his water bottle :-)
