August 2014

I spent A LOT of time at plant nurseries taking pictures and deciding what I like. Now they have hardy hibiscus in zone 4. Fun!

Took care of some friends' cockatiels.  I've learned that birds aren't for me.

Landon enjoying the nail gun.

Went to our neighborhood party at the park. Here are our neighbors: Lydia (who was in Britton's Kindergarten class) and Kalex. They live across the street from us.

At the neighborhood party was face painting...

And balloon art.

See our mammoth sunflower peeking over the 6' fence?

Had cement curbing put in from Creative Curbing.

We love how it ended up.

Took the boys to Soldier's Field playground. Cam's really got at not eating the sand (unlike baby Britton).

More days at the RAC pool.

Cam's a walker! 10 or 11 months.

Playing with neighbors. Here's Tieran from up the street.

My first time golfing with Landon. Actually, my first time golfing ever!

It was pretty fun!

Hey, at least he's not climbing on the shelves (...this time)...

My 3 Amigos - at Gibbs Elementary School playground

We met up with Nanny and Poppa and the Bradys at Como Zoo.  Afterwards, we headed to IKEA for dinner and a little shopping.

Went with Lynn Chang and her kids (Kaden and Kara) from Silver Lake to Downtown's "Thursdays on First".

They got some free sunglasses.... and loved them until Ty pinched his finger where the glasses pivot. Then, you heard Ty call them, "Stupid glasses!"

Cam just loves LOVES loves the vacuum!

Helping Brit put in 12 miles before a 1.1 mile race to earn a half marathon medal.

Not quite what I had in mind when I told Ty he could eat outside.  His plate is up there, too.

Super hot days!

The kids, and I, loved having Samantha Frei as a regular sitter during the summer.  She was such a hard worker, prompt, responsible, patient, and kind girl. I hope she comes back next summer!!

Watching Brit's tennis lessons. We carpooled with Kaden Chang.

Brit was introduced to Monopoly from the Millers.  He borrowed their game. Then he saved up his money and bought his own!

I find all sorts of pictures on my phone of the kids' creations.

Playdate with Max Allen.

Cousins came and visited. Here we're waiting for "Movies Under the Stars" to play FROZEN.

The next day, the kids ran 1.1 miles to finish off the 12 miles they had run at home to get a half marathon medal.

I ran with Britton.  When my shoelace came undone, I told him to keep going and I would catch up.  I never could catch him and he passed the finish line before me! Amazing, because he'd be 'so tired' on all our subsequent walks/ runs. I guess the adrenaline of the race contributed. Great job buddy!

Tired guy with hot cheeks.  He kept saying how he was passing 'third graders'.  He was so proud of himself!

And this {energizer bunny} just keeps going....

...and going!

The cute faces of Ty...

I love Cam's eyes...

Ty's first talk in Primary.

Ty teaching me how to give him 'airplane rides' like Samantha Frei did for him.

Playdate with Hazen and Cannon Quist.

Going through our books. I love kids' books! We had over 200... I may have a problem. :-)
