Brit's coach, Nathan Hillier, suggested that Brit sign up for a USTA tournament.  We got signed up for a local one in Salem.  Apparently there weren't enough people signed up, because instead of having multiple matches, he just played 'round robin' with 3 other boys his age in singles.  It was hot to play during the middle of the day, but I think he was proud of himself and took home a 3rd place trophy - his first trophy :-)

Landon and I come home to this after every date night: a messy kitchen table.  We got to figure out a way for the kids to pick up after themselves.  It's getting exhausting.  On the other hand, it's wonderful to have a date night, that it's a small price to pay.

For Family Home Evening, we picked up trash along Del Monte Road.  The boys had previously cleaned some of the area with Janean Baker, but there was still plenty to pick up.  Even now, when I walk by, I want to bring more trash bags by.  I'm not sure if it's the wind or what - there's always a lot of trash there.  I wonder why people throw bottles and cups out the window?

Just some fun times with Carson being a dog.

I tried organizing my photos and sentimental items.  Lexi loved the Madame Alexander dolls.

I made a flip chart for myself.  It's been very helpful to remember things like planning dinner and scripture study.  The kids have their own for morning chores and we all love the flaps.  They're so satisfying to flip up when you're complete!

Our friends, the Andersons came over one morning.  We all can pick up right where we left off.  It's never enough time!

  1. Congrats, Brit, on your trophy! I love the table switch--the same way as the light--looks good! Actually makes it look roomier in there. There must be something on Pinterest about kids picking up the table--but like you say, small price to pay while on a date! Lex looks adorable with the Madame Alexander doll--I'd love to see them all lined up! How did you make the flip chart--I need one for myself!! Terrific idea with the garbage pick up!
