We drove from Las Vegas to San Diego and used Hotwire to get a last minute hotel. We ended up in a sweet hotel called The Inn By The Sea in La Jolla. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, but we ended up driving the 3 minutes. That evening, Landon and Brit stayed at the hotel to finish some school work, and I took the kids to the beach.
First, we stopped at The Children's Pool and walked on the sea wall.

We bought a coconut. We didn't like the juice too much. Then, after drinking it, they cut it in half and scraped the meat for us. Everyone tried, but the kids didn't like it.
We walked along the coast and saw seals and sea lions at Boomer Beach. The sea lions are the vocal and social ones.
Ty was in heaven by the sea.
We walked over to La Jolla Cove, passing vendors on the way. Lexi bought a necklace.
On the walk back, we went down to Shell Beach. We were just going to walk in the sand and get a little wet. We got more wet than planned, but the kids loved it.
